Frequently Asked Questions about our Residential Model 10, 50, 150, 170 Garage and Porch Screen Doors:

Does it really install in about 10 minutes? Yes - It was designed for the do-it-yourself market. It is very easy to install.

How long does the screen door last? Under normal wear and tear it should last about 7 to 10 years.

Where does it install? It installs on the inside of the garage door jamb. The garage door industry is very standardized and the screen will fit your door if orders as the size of your garage door

Can I install the door on the outside of my door opening? Yes, but the outside of door openings are not consistently built the same. You ma have to frame the opening to create a proper size. The loop  (Velcro) material will break down in the sun, rain, and snow. It will have to be replaced periodically if installed on the outside.

Do you have a one way view privacy screen? There is no such thing. The screen mesh is constructed with holes to allow in fresh air. Those openings can be seen through. However if you install the screen in a garage with no windows and the sun is out, it is very difficult to see in through the model 17, 57 and 157 series. At night if you turn on a light in the garage and it is dark out you will be able to see in.

Are your screens made in the USA? Yes - We sew them 100% in the USA. All of our materials except hook, loop and some zipper are made in the USA. We have competitors who advertise made in the USA but they  buy screen from China and some even have standard size screens sewn overseas. We are proud to buy, support and manufacture in the USA.

Does the screen work if I have 45 degree angles or arched garage door openings? Yes, Our screens fit on the inside of the door jamb behind the arch or 45 angles.

How do I clean the screen? Spay it with a hose. You can also use a mild detergent.

What is the warranty? The screen has a one year warranty against any manufacturing defects.

How long does it take to get the screen after I order it? Many of the sizes are in stock and ship out the same day they are ordered. If the screen is not in stock it takes 3 - 21 working days depending on the model ordered.

Where do I measure? Measure the garage door. The garage door industry is very standard and our garage door screens are designed to work with the garage door. Measure the garage door and the screen will work with your opening. Our doors are shipped wider and taller than your garage door size.

Do I have to take the screen down before I close the garage door? In most cases you do. The screens are easily removed by separating the Velcro fastening system. The model 10 and 50 series must be taken down before closing the garage door. The model 150 and 170 series have a built in vinyl flap the protect against ripping the screen. In general it is best to take the door down when not in use. The screen and the garage door are in close contact when the garage door is in the closed position. If your garage door has any sharp edges it will cut the screen. The model 10 and 50 series  will wear out the fiberglass screen with repeated closing of the garage door against the screen.

What is the difference in the screen material? All the models that end in a 0 (10, 50, 150, 170) use either 1816 or 1814 fiberglass screen mesh. All models that end in 2 (12,52, 152, 172) use 2020 fiberglass screen mesh. All models that end in 7 (17, 57, 157, 177) use vinyl coated polyester mesh. All American Flag models are made from vinyl coated polyester mesh.
